Our Learning Environment
The Lab is designed akin to a playground, aiming for a tech-enriched children’s encounter. Like a playground, kids explore, create,
and cooperate, under adult supervision yet leading their involvement.
Our Layout
The open concept layout is the expression of an educational philosophy that promotes a high level of autonomy for students, who are being given responsibility towards their own learning progression.
Group Tables
Tables are structured in groups of 4 and 8 to increase collaboration with peers.
Modular Furniture
Most furniture is flexible to make collaborative environments free-form.
Flexible Seating
Students feel empowered by having some degree of choice and control over their environment. Flexible seating allows students to choose where they work and with whom. It also allows them to change their location and positions as needed.
Developing Future Proof Students
Our focus lies in nurturing a student’s intellectual, emotional, social, artistic, and creative capacities, tailored to individual needs. We affirm
that quality education encompasses holistic development, equipping students for real-world challenges with exceptional academics.
The Lab introduces programs which enrich a student’s personal attributes as well as academic:
The Lab runs various internal competitions for members. Competitions are designed to enhance teamwork and collaborative skills amongst members.
The Lab Thinkers Competition is the largest internal competition open to all students of The Lab. Students are given a real-life problem statement and tasked to provide a technological solution.
Internal Members’ Competition
Every month, the Student of the Month are awarded to students in the Kinder, Junior and Coder programs. They are designed to recognize student achievement and to showcase their coding prowess. The purpose is to spark interest and motivation in our students in their learning journey with The Lab.
Student Of The Month Award
The Lab participates in Robotics and STEM related competitions that places a student’s credentials at an advantage, particularly for DSA-SEC (Direct Secondary Admission – Secondary).
Some notable competitions we take part annually includes Coding Olympics, Canadian Computing Competition – CEMC and Code Quest.
Participate In National Competitions
Student Industry Tours
We have curated several volunteering opportunities for your child to share their coding knowledge with others, especially the underprivileged to promote inclusiveness in society. Some of the events that we have done in the past includes teaching underprivileged students, and elderly. Find the opportunity that strikes a chord to kick start your child’s volunteering journey today!
Volunteer Program
(By invitation only) The Lab runs a comprehensive Leadership Program that works towards the development of a selected member’s leadership skills through an invitation to take up leadership responsibilities as an instructor assistant. As an instructor assistant, they will assist the senior instructor with instructional responsibilities.
They will work hand in hand with our instructors to guide and share their knowledge and Computational Thinking skills with others. In this way, we hope to prepare them for responsible leadership and service to society.

Testimonials
My kids really enjoy their experience at The Lab. For the younger ones, the classes and activities are fun and engaging as they get to build and apply the concepts they learn directly. For older kids, the projects and pace are geared to the individual child and that helps them progress at their own pace without feeling bored or struggling to keep up. Highly recommend.

I would like to first off say this school’s robotic/ coding program is the most structured. and organized that I’ve ever seen and I would instantly recommend this to anyone I know. My son has been going here for more than half year now. He has an amazing experience. I was so impressed by the teachers, friendly and fun atmosphere , the quality of teaching and the intelligence which the teachers handled young energetic kids.

Our child has been with The Lab since the middle of 2022 and has been enjoying himself every lesson. He is always very excited and enthusiastic to go for coding classes. Our initial worries of whether he will be able to adapt and learn were unfounded. Kudos to Teacher Khim who is extremely patient, nurturing and engaging! She makes learning fun and will take the time to guide and ensure that my child understands the concept and is able to carry out the task independently. Teacher Khim also takes the time to provide feedback on our child’s learning after every class which we are very appreciative of. We also love it that the lesson outline is sent to us after every lesson too. Another plus point would be the bright and open concept of the learning environment at The Lab.

My 8 year old girl enjoys the lessons and is always looking forward to the next lesson. The teachers are engaging, approachable and professional. What I like about The Lab’s program is that it encourages independent learning and problem solving skills. However, when my girl gets stuck on a task, the teacher will not tell her the solution but instead offer prompts/guidance and teach her how to think critically to dissect the problem and arrive at the solution.

Teacher Khim has been very positive and patient. I can see that Ethan looks forward to every robotic lesson on Saturdays. Also can see an improvement in his daily logic thought process. Keep it up!
